I’ve Got a Bad Feeling About This…

Against your better judgment, you decide to take a walk through Central Park…

The warnings were true! You should have been more careful, but it seems you are given a second chance in the guise of a difficult choice.  If you’re not entirely sure what to do, you can read up a bit here.

I Don’t Want to Go in the Cart!

Well, you’re dead, sort of… However, if you are one of the lucky few, you may have received some ohais! You can use your new ohais to purchase new clothing, items, or fighting gear.  See this faq for more information.  You find yourself newly awoken in the cemetery of New Valencia. You’re still very weak and new to this world, so don’t be afraid to ask questions! If you’re not sure what to do, you can try to chat to players using the chat bar, or hit the ‘?’ in the upper right hand corner for the forums!

Step 1: Now, if you want to find out what happened to you, you’ll need to contact Theo. He’ll let you know more about the change you’ve recently gone through and give you your first mission! You can find him just to the right of where you wake up. Position your mouse over his stylish black coat and click to walk over and talk to him.

Theo will send you on a mission: time to learn how to fight!. Before you can find a zombie though, you’ll need to learn how to get around.

The Quick and the Undead

There are a few ways to move around in New Valencia: you can use the arrow keys on your keyboard, click on the ground with your mouse button to move to a specific location, or click and hold the mouse button to continue moving. You can try all three to decide which one you like best!

Step 2: Going to the right, you should be able to find a couple zombies milling about, but be careful! Even mindless zombies can be dangerous.

Step 3: Once you’ve found one, click on it with your mouse. See the red circle at its feet? That’s how you know it’s out to get you!  Now, click Fight! to get started. You’ll get the zombie’s attention by throwing a small ball of force at it and start swinging away! You can use your ‘Bite’ skill by clicking with the mouse (or hitting 1 on your keyboard) to store blood for your ‘Rend’ skill (click with mouse or hit 2). If you need more help, this faq can give you some tips. A few swipes and that zombie goes from undead to just plain dead. Don’t forget to go back to Theo to report your success!

You may be a bona fide, officially licensed and bonded zombie slayer, but you’re still pretty new to this vampire game. Theo lets you know that the sun is going to put you back in a shallow grave if you don’t make it home before sunrise. You can check out the mini-map in the upper right hand corner to figure out how to get out of the graveyard and safely home. Look for a green and yellow symbol somewhere to the right of your current location. Your own icon is a small orange cross in the center of the map. It will move around as you do, so use it to orient yourself as you flee the cemetery!

Step 4: Start moving to the right and look for a green and yellow compass on the ground. If you stick to the path, you should be able to avoid most of the zombies and make it home before sunrise! Click the glowing symbol to exit the Haunting and make your way home.

Making Your Vampire House a Vampire Home

That was close! You’ll find yourself in your brand new house in the city of New Valencia. It comes with everything a new vampire could need: deluxe refrigerator, plush coffin, blood-resistant countertops, vaguely evil-looking door, mysterious notes… Wait! Check out that note to find out more about what’s happened to you.

If you’re going to enjoy the glittering social life that all modern vampires love, you can’t spend the day sleeping away in your new home. Head to the refrigerator for a dose of Sunset. (It’s got what vamps crave!)

Alright, we can now enjoy our daylife at some of New Valencia’s dayclubs, but those torn and bloody clothes have got to go! Check the wardrobe for some new threads. Don’t worry too much about the style, you can grab some better gear any time by using your rubies and ohais at merchants all around the city.

You’re nearly invulnerable, recently made yourself zombie enemy #1, and got some killer new clothes: time to check out the town! But first, take a look at the table next to the door. You hope Theo eventually comes up with a better communication system than littering your apartment with mysterious notes, but just click the table for now.

I Wanna Drink Blood in this Club

A new mission: time to hit the club! Click on the door and you will exit to Downtown New Valencia. You’ll find your fellow vampire compatriots gathering here anytime, day or night. You can chat a quick hello if you’d like, but let’s stay focused on Theo’s mission for now! You’ll find Club Hypnotique in the upper left hand corner of your screen. If you ever forget what you’re doing, check the Mission Progress bar at the top of your screen to stay on track. If it ever gets lost, hit ‘L’ on your keyboard to bring it back. For now, click on the entrance to Club Hypnotique and let’s find Lindsay!

Wow, good thing you changed; this place is way too posh for the torn-and-bloody crowd. Check the mini-map in your upper right hand corner and somewhere to your lower left you should see a green circle with a yellow star inside of it. This symbol means you can find the end of a quest at that location! Head down the hall to discover your bartender, Lindsay Love, and the end of this FAQ!

The Rest of Your Unlife

You’re on your way! For someone recently murdered and nearly entombed, you’re doing remarkably well in this world! This guide marks just the start of your adventures in New Valencia, however, and there are many mysterious notes and angry zombies to come.
